Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: As a martial art and combat sport, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu focuses on grappling. It focuses on that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant. BJJ can be trained for self defense, sport grappling tournaments and mixed martial arts. Sparring or rolling and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Kids Martial Arts: We teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Karate. Our Karate system is taught by 2nd degree black belt in Shidokan and Wado-Ryu Karate Keith Cotter-Reilly. Our classes help your child learn self confidence, discipline, and get them in shape. Your child will learn skills and lessons that will stay with them and help them throughout their entire lives.

Kids ages 6-9 years old take Karate and kids ages 10-14 take Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Karate. We regularly compete in local and national tournaments. Kids 14 and older may join adult classes with instructor and parent approval.

Unit 2 Fitness is Atlanta's premier BJJ and Mixed Martial Arts school. We offer classes in BJJ 6 days per week with two time World Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion, Ultimate Fighting Champion veteran, and ADCC champion Roberto Traven.

Roberto Traven was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 196 and began doing BJJ at 16 years old. Through hard work he was able to get his black belt in just over 4 years of training.

In 1999 he won the 1999 Abu Dhabi open class champion

Traven fought in the early UFC days competing UFC 11 and UFC 34.

Not only is Traven an accomplished fighter but he is also a phenomenal coach. After being open for less than one year his BJJ team was able to win gold trophy in the 2007 Casca-Gross grappling tournament and the 2007 NAGA Georgia tournament. Major Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu schools from Georgia and surrounding states sent their best to compete. Many schools had three to four times the competitors in attendance then Unit 2 Fitness / Roberto Traven BJJ. It is a testament to his coaching that his teach was able to clinch these victories.
